Meet Coach Tad Powers

Tad Powers is a former professional athlete and successful entrepreneur. He played professional baseball for nine years and founded Futera Sports Cards, which was later sold to Crazy Cards, known for Pokémon.

Tad served as a player, head coach, and junior development officer for the Cronulla Sharks in the New South Wales Baseball League for nine seasons. He also worked as an international scout for the Chicago Cubs and Anaheim Angels for over ten years.

As an owner and manager of The Sydney Wave in the Australian Baseball League, he was on the ABL Board of Directors for three years. Tad founded High Country Baseball Camps and International Tours, taking players from Sydney and Colorado on sports training tours. He also established the High Country Sandlot Foundation to provide free summer camps and college scholarships for at-risk youth.

Tad created Sandlot Academies, which has expanded to 29 locations across 17 states. He also developed the Sandlot Radio Network and hosted the Sandlot Radio Show for 11 seasons.
